This site contains a fair number of tutorials. To help you hunt down which tutorial you want quickly, I have placed an icon by each tutorial indicating which category the tutorial is in. Below is a reference of what each of the icons mean.
Category Icons
Information IconThis icon is used for tutorials that simply provide basic information. |
Basics IconThis icon is used for tutorials that discuss some of the basics. They go beyond purely informational tutorials, and provide a good foundation for some more advanced things. If you see a Basics tutorial that is about something you don't already know about, you should go through it. |
Physics IconThis icon is used for tutorials that discuss game physics. This includes things like collision detection and movement. |
Audio IconThe audio icon is used for any tutorial that discusses audio, including sound effects, background music, and 3D audio effects. |
2D IconThe 2D Icon is used for tutorials that discuss how to make 2D games, or 2D effects that may be used in a 3D game. |
3D IconThis icon is used for tutorials that discuss fundamental 3D stuff in games. This includes drawing in three dimensions, working with models, texturing, lighting, and effects. |
Packaging IconThis icon is used for tutorials that discuss packaging and distributing your game to others. |
Mouse IconThis icon is used for tutorials that look at how to get mouse input from the user. |
Keyboard IconThis icon is used for tutorials that discuss how to get and apply keyboard input from the player. |
Game Pad IconThis icon is used for tutorials that discuss how to get input from an Xbox Game Pad. |
Guitar IconThis icon is used for tutorials that discuss how to get and apply input from a guitar on the Xbox 360, like the Xplorer Guitar. |
Java IconThis icon is used in the Java tutorials for anything that shows you how to use Java. |
