Troubleshooting this TutorialSometimes, even though you try hard to understand the information in a tutorial, things don't work out quite like you want it to. This page is here to help you resolve any problems you might be having with the tutorial on suggestions for audio in games. The Common Mistakes section describes common problems that people have when doing the things in this tutorial, and how to resolve them. The Frequently Asked Questions section describes questions that people have that aren't related to mistakes, but rather, trying to understand the stuff better or exploring how it can be used. If your problem or concern isn't addressed here, feel free to add a comment below, so that I know where you're having trouble. I like to keep these pages fairly clean, so I may remove comments that I felt like have been addressed. If I remove your comment and you don't feel like the problem has been fixed, repost the question and we'll take another look at it. If a tutorial has a mistake in it, I will fix the mistake and reply to the comment with a brief explanation. However, after a couple of weeks I'll likely go back and remove the original comment as well as my reply, because, hopefully, the problem will have been fixed, and it won't be a concern any more. |

hello,
how do i use this in monogame?
as it seems to not be loading in the content,
thanks ;)
As a suggestion: since the page ‘Audio Library’ is still empty, maybe you could add a link there pointing towards the ‘Audio Suggestions for Games’ tutorial.

Having realized that the hyperlinked helicopter sound effect from ‘8 - 3D Audio Effects: Location’ appears not to work (I have tried downloading directly the suggested MP3, but the file seems corrupted in some way), I think that Flash Kit must have gone through some big trouble because of Adobe’s termination of Flash; searching for a replacement for the helicopter sound (as I want to try it reusing my program from the 3D tutorials, since there is already a nice moving helicopter!), I have found the following website, Sound Jay, which claims to give royalty-free sounds and music up for download, both in WAV and MP3 formats. Maybe it could be named as an alternative to Flash Kit in your tutorial?

1) Main page:
soundjay . com/index . html
2) ‘Terms of Use’:
soundjay . com/tos . html
3) Helicopter sounds, including ‘Helicopter Hovering’, which sounds nice for tutorial 8:
soundjay . com/helicopter-sound-effect . html
PS: I just realized that XACT refused to open my helicopter.wav; I opened it up with Audacity, changed nothing and merely exported it as a WAV again, and it worked. So, there may be some artifact in the file or its format that needs to be taken care of, which is easy, fortunately.
