I still wish it were smart enough to adjust for local time, but I get the feeling that's not an option. I looked around for a couple of minutes for other widgets that could be embedded and it seems like most expect you to put in a time and time zone, instead of just doing it in local time. That's OK. This looks great!
Now if only I could hang this on my wall.

Like I said before.. If we all started at the same time reguardless of what timezone we are in.. it might be easier.. I am est, which is -4 hours to gmt, and there for i know the competition starts at 8PM for me..
Does that sound like a good idea? i mean then we would all be on the IRC programming at the same time instead of needing to wait till its 2 in the morning for me before you start.
The problem with what you're suggesting is that it might not work well for some of us. For instance, if the competition were to end at 12:00 AM for you, but 12:00 PM for me, which won't happen in that much of an extreme, I don't think, then you would have a lot more time to work on it on the final day than I would, if you were willing to stay up all night. We could do it that way, but it seems simpler to keep it to specific dates.
I think as long as we're all within 24 hours of the closing countdown we should be good. We are supposed to have room for flexibility, and in a lot of instances it can't be avoided because of where we are at.

Well.. we are 1/3rd through the competition, how is it going guys?
For me, personally, I've been meeting my goals so far. I've still got a ton more work to do, but I guess it's good that there's still three weeks left. I'm shifting focus this week over to the UI instead of the physics, so that will be interesting.
Not too bad on my end other than needing to redo some graphics work! Life has been kind of hectic too so even though I've made some progress, I'm not where I would like to be. I said I was doing 2 games this competition, so my halfway mark for pacman is going to be at 15.5 days… only about 2 left for me to get caught up!
