I felt the need to register just to post a thank you note.
I'm probably 2/3'rds of the way through the generic C# tutorial, and I have to say that I'm loving it! I did Delphi and Java programming a good 12 years ago now, and wanted to get back into development. Specifically, one of my friends encouraged me to help him make a jRPG game, and I made a new years resolution of learning either C# or C++. With Unity, MonoGame and XNA, C# seemed the most logical choice.
So far, I'm understanding most things, though they don't always 'stick' in the brain. So I'm having to pop back in the tutorials and refer to examples and descriptions to find out why my code either doesn't work, or how to make something else work.
Once again, thank you RB for the tutorials and this website. :) I'm planning to pick up the book at some point next month, after the car's had it's yearly service.
