I found out that loading 2D sprites on quads and displaying them gives better performance as far as how smooth the render is. Also, it gives you more options in designing a game. My interest is to have a platformer, where there is a very slight depth, so the character can move in and out of the screen to go behind obstacles such as crates and trees while avoiding enemies in the front. I would like to know if someone can make a simple explanation on how I could implement loading sprites onto quads and to have them render correctly. I already did the 2D tutorial and looked over the 3D tutorial, but I'm not sure how to organize this.
Sprites on quads for smoother performance?
