Fall 2017 Competition Dates

I'm getting the ball rolling on the Fall 2017 Game Development Competition. According to the schedule, this is supposed to start the last weekend in November, which would be the 24th of November, the day after Thanksgiving. On that schedule, it should end on the 24th of December, which is Christmas Eve.

Looking at those dates, I'd be willing to shift it back 1 week. I always get the week between Christmas and New Year's off, and that would give me that full week, which would be nice.

Any thoughts?

I would like to participate in the challenge, but not sure the timing will work with other events going on.

I propose adding a strong recommendation that participants agree to attempt to enter the Microsoft Dream.Build.Play competition as part of this competition. It ends Dec 31, so perfect timing. https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/projects/campaigns/dream-build-play-challenge

Besides the main competition, there is a competition for best game dev journal and a third challenge for a third party marketplace if people are interested in those as well.

OK, well I think it sounds unanimous, at least from the people who actually weighed in. Let's shift it back and start it December 1st, and end it December 31st. Coincidentally lining up with the actual month boundary, which is nice. I'll be posting a signup thread, rules, and the usual stuff soon.
