Hey guys! I'll be posting updates every time we have a change, but for now this is what we have:
- top down 2d - this is almost certain
- turn based - this might change, but it'll most likely stay this way
- rouge-like - we may make it like a rouge-like instead, but for now you die for good
That's what we have for now. We also have a nice main mechanic that the game is centered around (hence the name), but that's under wraps until we get things going. It'll be interesting (and fun!), trust me ;)
It'll be made in primarily c++ using the sfml libraries with python integrated into it (if i need it), but that might change later (hopefully it doesn't)
My goals are:
- learn c++ (in progress)
- learn python
- learn how to use emacs (want to use it as my compiler and editor)
- optionally learn how to use vim as well (for the emacs evil plugin)
- make core game mechanics (cell grid, movement, etc.)
- make non-essential mechanics
- make storyline (or some type of plot, no mater how small)
- level design/generation
- audio/visuals
- publish
I'll post more as we get along, but as a full time student it's harder to find time to balance everything (I say as i write this at 3am with tons of homework left) so it might take a while for major progress to happen.
