I'll try to find you in the forums sometime over the next couple of days and we can try to iron some goals out / talk about it.
I agree on laying down some implementation details so we know which direction to go. There is some really interesting stuff to cover with generating random laydowns of levels. IE how the rooms connect, how often are large rooms inserted, how often to put staircases, multiple layouts of larger rooms, how often dead ends occur, etc.
I think we could separate concerns easily. One person could focus on creating the random dungeon generator and the other on actual game mechanics like moving around the rooms. I would probably tend towards focusing on a small feature set to start.
We could even just leave combat and monsters out all together for the collab and focus on interacting in the dungeon. Tackle picking up and dropping items, handling multiple items per space, interacting with stairs and chests, etc. Maybe if there is time later, come back and try to circle back to combat.
