It's been a while since we did a collab, and I'm interested in getting people's thoughts on what they want or would be willing to use in terms of tools and languages for a collab. Some of this depends on exactly how many people are interested in participating, which is a discussion for the "I'm Interested" list.
I'll say that I'm tentatively thinking of using:
- C#
- MonoGame
- Visual Studio (2019 if we can make it work with the latest MG, or 2017 if we can't)
- Git (which is different from Mercurial, which we've used before but seems like a worse and worse idea these days)
- GitHub to host the project
- Discord for chat (possibly including voice, though there are lots of people that are hesitant to use voice, so maybe not)
- Google Docs for any sort of design
- Possibly Trello for light-weight project management if GitHub doesn't cut it for us.
That's what I'm thinking right now.
On the other hand, if we have 50 people signing up, then this conversation changes rather dramatically. We form into teams of people who are interested in similar tools and a similar game and each does their own thing.
