This thread is a place to officially declare that you're going to be attempting to make a game in our Game Development Competition #5. It is not required to sign up here. But I still recommend it, if for no other reason than once you've made a public statement that you're going to do it, you're far more likely to follow through on it. (Don't worry if things end up falling apart and you never finish though. We won't beat you up over it.)
After missing the last competition because of book stuff, I'm definitely going to be joining this competition! I'm still fleshing out some ideas for what I'll work on, so I'll create a separate update thread when I've got it a little more put together.
Anyway, I'm excited to be doing this! Hopefully work doesn't get in the way too much… :D
I'm absolutely joining - I haven't done any programming since the last competition (which was, granted, only about two or three months ago), so I'm pretty excited to get back to it with an overly-ambitious project!
I will not be participating this time. My wife and I had our second kid two weeks ago. Everything is going well. Of course there won't be lots of time to dedicate to programming.
I have continued developing my entry for the last contest on occasion. I would like to post an update to the game when I hit another milestone but do not have a specific timeline since it is a low priority now.
I definitely want to participate in the next collaboration though.
Definitely going to participate in this competition. I will be up for whatever category we go for just to see how far I can progress a game from start to finish.
I think I am going to be using ActionScript (Flash) to make my game, that way everyone can play it in a web browser without worrying about downloading or installing anything.
There are a few concepts I have for games and I feel like some of my other ideas are a bit too complex to finish in a month so I will hold off on a few other projects until after this.
