If you guys want to throw up some ideas, this is where they belong. Like I said, me and Akantenshu are doing a text based game with probably some ASCII art and a loosely Dungeons and Dragons theme.

Maybe the optional theme could be "sword and shield" meaning that the game has to feature a sword and a shield for either the player or the main enemy. It could be broadened into the "tabletop adventure" type of theme.

Hey, I like the "sword and shield" theme. There's all kinds of cool possibilities there, so that's my vote!

I think the Sword and Shield sounds like a good idea too. So many different way that you can go with that.

Sword and Shield is a great theme. And I like the idea of taking it away from a specific game this time around. This has got my vote.

Maybe that is something that we should do from now on. Instead of Just picking a type of game go with more a category, and just let everyone decide how they interoperate it. I for one would like to see what kinds of things people come up with.

Glad everyone liked my suggestion :3. I was leaning towards not having a specific game to clone to keep things broader. Even though the theme is optional it at least gives something to work with that isn't too restricting.
