This thread is a place to officially declare that you're going to be attempting to make a game in our Game Development Competition #3. It is not required to sign up here. But I still recommend it, if for no other reason than once you've made a public statement that you're going to do it, you're far more likely to follow through on it. (Don't worry if things end up falling apart and you never finish though. We won't beat you up over it.)
As the official forum-setter-upper, I get the honors of being the first one to sign up officially for the competition once again! I've been a little disappointed in my performance in the previous two competitions, honestly. The first one, I started on my game and got sidetracked, then I rushed around in the last couple of days to make a game from scratch over the last weekend. (Which turned out pretty cool, but I had to abandon my original idea.) In the second one, I got pretty far into it, and got derailed again. I don't think I even really "finished" anything.
So here we are on Competition #3, and I'm actually planning on working on a bigger game than the previous times around. Two failures and higher expectations isn't usually a good idea, but here we go anyway…
I'll be here as always! I haven't decided exactly what I'm doing yet, but plan to get that nailed down in the next few days…. Of course, I'll let you all know before the official start.
Now, we had a countdown timer last time… think I should set that up again? (Takes less than 5 minutes)

I'm of course signing up. I'm not really sure what I'll be doing yet, but it will likely be something smaller this time, since I've been pretty busy and I'm not sure how much I'll be up for programming even when I do get the time. Of course, it's always possible that I'll do something stupid like start a big project, but that's part of the fun, anyways.
And yes, PiscesMike, I thought the countdown timer was pretty cool last time, and I'm definitely for having it again.
Hello guys! I'm back :D Passed the exam with flying colours, however high school is a lot more difficult, but i have decided to participate in this competition. I have a nice idea but I'm working in Unity just because I plan on releasing the game on Google Play and I don't "speak" Java and ADK. And I also might have a teammate from my new school :D Anyways, my plan is to finish at least the programming with simple shapes, but it might take longer to create good 3D models for the game and there might be a skin system. My idea might change, though. If it does, I'll probably consider working in XNA. I also think the team might carry the same name, though it might change, since the team composition isn't the same… I will discuss it with my (hopefully) teammate. We will be making a thread for our game tomorrow, though I don't know your time zone but ours is +1 with DST (which ended recently), so our schedule will be oriented towards that time zone.

So I'm going to be competing as well. I'm going to be doing the Castlevania theme and hoping for good results. Not the best artist by far but if I concentrate maybe I can eek something decent out.
