I should probably also say that I'm not convinced we actually have the time to do networked multiplayer. That's tricky.

It would certainly be fun to try it. I really don't have any problems with somebody volunteering to work on networked multiplayer, and spending the bulk of their time there. (Or even a couple of people.) I just don't know if we'll cross that particular finish line (pun intended) in time. But we might, and it would be fun to try it!

I'll just say that I probably won't go do networked multiplayer until we have local machine multiplayer more or less working first. But this is a collab, and if somebody else wants to focus on networked multiplayer, I've got no problems with that.

Sounds like the choice then is to clone Indy 500. It's the only option put forward so far that can do multiplayer. Sound good?

I like the idea of creating a multi-player game, I would like to learn how to and perhaps we could have fun playing it together.

Thrust sounds cool. I made the phyisics of that once before but never finished it.
I don't care to specifically do something new, I'd be happy with snake again.

MooCow here,
I don't have any real suggestion right now, but personally, I like the idea of maybe trying to do something with multi-player - just because I've never done multiplayer before and I'd love to learn about it.

I want to get the conversation moving on the game we're going to make for the collab. (I don't think we've got enough people to do multiple games at this point in time.)

We've typically done simple arcade games in the hopes of being able to make it mostly complete.

Ultimately, I don't care too much what we do; the most valuable thing to me is just having fun making a game of any size or shape with you guys.

But I don't want to still be deciding three days before we do the collab (and now we're only about 2.5 weeks out).

I'm going to throw out two suggestions. If you have other alternatives, post them. (If you post them in the #collab-9 channel on Discord, I can post them here if you don't want to make a Wikidot account.)

Let's try to have all the suggestions in by the 15th, and a decision made by the 18th.

#1: Gravatar/Thrust. This is an evolution on the Asteroids concept where there is gravity, and your goal is to get down to the planet surface and grab a pod and get back into space.

#2: Indy 500. This is a game where you drive a car around a track. We could definitely do multi-player on this.
