XNA will continue to function into the foreseeable future. Discussions that it is 'dead' just mean they aren't planning on releasing new versions - although that is still under debate and may change. In other words, even though there may not be future releases, whats been created already, and whats being worked on now in XNA will still work fine. So, I would say, yes, it is still OK to learn. Even if something crazy happens and XNA completely stops working (can't see that happening, because stuff all the way back to DirectX 3.0 still works), what you learn can be adapted to other frameworks. Truth is, as far as I know, most of the other 'game engines' are still built on top of XNA/DirectX.

I search this before i ask. Though most question was 2012 year. There is a lot of game engine coming out. Is XNA still okay to learn now that it is dead? Was planning to buy the XNA4.0 book too after purchasing c# players guide
